Serview Festival – an event for IT champions
In November 2021, we not only launched Container8 but were also able to present it directly to a large audience of IT and DevOps professionals in a keynote at the Serview Festival.
After two talks by Dr. Dominic Lindner and Mario Willecke on Wednesday, it was time for the keynote: “DevOps-as-a-Service-Platform” by Benjamin Nothdurft from codecentric AG.
In 45 minutes, he explains how an incident occurs at one of his globally operating clients and is resolved directly in the subsequent steps. He shows three different ways to resolve an incident and why he chose the DevOps-as-a-Service platform (Container8).

From DevOps to an All-in-One DevOps-as-a-Service Platform
DevOps dates back to the year 2000, when the first agile working methods for digital projects emerged. The term DevOps itself was coined in mid-2007 by Belgian IT expert Patrick Debois, frustrated by the friction between development and operations teams. In 2008, the first Velocity event took place, and Debois made DevOps known worldwide. Since then, DevOps has not been a fad: it has become a guideline and method that everyone wanted.
However, because people tend to hold on to old and familiar ways of working, DevOps has not yet taken root in all organisations.
