The Girls'Day is a nationwide campaign in which female students from grade 5 onwards get a one-day insight into a desired scientific-technical profession at a company of their choice. Women are still underrepresented in IT because there are still some apprehensions and many think that the IT industry is only for men.
That is why it is important to us that women engage with the topic at an early stage and inform themselves about the diverse career opportunities the IT industry offers them.
And what better opportunity is there for this than the Girls'Day.
Our team then also quickly decided to participate in the Girls'Day 2022 and to make two places available to us on site in our Munich office.
Under the motto "Get an insight into an IT company", we wanted to give young female students at XALT the opportunity to see what different professions and topics exist in IT.
In doing so, the two learned:

- Team XALT and HR - An overview of XALT and the different professions in IT
- Project Management - How do you manage teams and communication and which tool do you use?
- Hacking & Automations: How you can continue to use your apps despite the block, what exactly is AI and why is everyone talking about it?
- Excel, why it is (still) needed and the first step towards automation.
- Insalata di Pomodori: Requirements & Expectations. If you want more, you have to ask for more.
- TikTok in IT → Millennials explain the world to us.
- Take over XALT and run the world
On 28.04., it finally happened. The Girls'Day was here.
It was of particular importance to us that the two participants, Maja and Jule, could get a taste of every area of XALT and future IT topics.
After the initial introduction with part of our team, they learned more about IT consulting, which clients and projects XALT supports, and why the legendary cloud is so important for the future of digitalization within society.
Girls' Day, a complete success.
The feedback from the two participants was overwhelmingly positive. We hope that both were able to form a first impression of the world of IT and that we have sparked their interest.
We thank all colleagues who supported us in the preparation and execution. Thanks also to all participating students. We can hardly wait to participate in the Girls'Day again next year.
