From Experiments to Enterprise Impact
Gene Kim has shaped conversations about modern technology organisations for years. The Phoenix Project made DevOps tangible through a story about flow and collaboration; The Unicorn Project puts developers’ experience at the centre. In Accelerate, he, Nicole Forsgren and Jez Humble examined how software delivery relates to organisational performance. His current focus is Vibe Coding and agentic software development: with Steve Yegge, he presents them as a fundamental shift, not simply a new tool.
Those ideas meet a shared project in Charlotte. IT Revolution hosts the Enterprise AI Summit, and XALT is developing the Event Chief of Staff, a personal AI companion for attendees. It is designed to help people find sessions and contacts relevant to their goals, then capture useful takeaways. The project brings a personal agent experience together with curated knowledge from the IT Revolution community. It builds on our work around the summit series, from conversations in San Jose to preparations for Charlotte. The experience is still in development; at the summit, we plan to test it against real challenges from enterprise life.
